By using drchrismccormick.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
2. What this site is
This is the personal website of Dr. Chris Len McCormick. It introduces his devotional Ordinary to Extraordinary, shares written reflections, and offers a free excerpt of the book. It is an author's website and nothing more.
It is not counseling, and it is not crisis support. The reflections here are devotional writing offered for encouragement. They are not pastoral counseling, medical or mental health advice, legal advice, or financial advice, and reading them does not create a pastoral, professional, or client relationship of any kind.
If you are struggling, please reach out to someone who can actually sit with you: your own pastor, a qualified counselor, or your doctor. In the United States, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline can be reached by calling or texting 988, at any hour.
3. Copyright, and what you may do with it
The text and photographs on this site are the property of Dr. Chris Len McCormick or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright. Ordinary to Extraordinary is published by Cedar Lake Publishing, LLC. The site's design and code were produced for him by AXXEM AI Solutions LLC.
Quoting him is welcome. Brief quotations in reviews, articles, sermons, small-group materials and teaching notes may be used freely, provided Dr. McCormick and the book are credited. That credit is the whole condition, and it is ordinary courtesy as much as a legal requirement.
Reproducing substantial portions, republishing the reflections in full elsewhere, or using any of this material commercially needs written permission first. The free excerpt is offered on its own terms, set out in section 9.
4. Using the site properly
Please do not attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the site or the systems behind it, use it to distribute unlawful or harmful material, or misrepresent yourself as Dr. McCormick or as speaking for him.
Search engines and AI assistants are welcome here. Automated access is fine where it respects this site's robots.txt, which names the crawlers that are permitted; bulk harvesting that ignores it is not.
5. Links to other places
This site links out to Amazon, to Facebook, and to AXXEM AI, who built it. Those services are independent of it and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Neither their content nor their availability is within Dr. McCormick's control.
The Amazon links are ordinary product links. They are not affiliate links, and no commission is earned when you follow one.
6. Buying the book
Nothing is sold through this website. Purchases of Ordinary to Extraordinary are made through Amazon, and everything about that transaction, including payment, delivery, returns, and refunds, is between you and Amazon under Amazon's terms.
7. Accuracy, and no warranty
The site is offered as it is. Reasonable care is taken to keep it accurate and available, but it comes with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Scripture quotations and biographical details are believed accurate at the time of writing.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Dr. Chris Len McCormick, Cedar Lake Publishing, LLC, and AXXEM AI Solutions LLC are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site, or from your inability to use it.
9. The free excerpt
The excerpt of Ordinary to Extraordinary is free to download and free to read, and nothing is asked of you in exchange. It contains the series introduction and Week One.
This section covers the excerpt document only. The complete book is sold separately, and its terms are set by the book itself rather than by this site.
The excerpt carries a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) notice on its copyright page. Under it you are free to share and redistribute the excerpt in any medium or format, provided that:
- attribution is given to the author and to Cedar Lake Publishing, LLC;
- it is not used for commercial purposes; and
- no modifications are made to the content.
For permissions beyond that license, the copyright page directs you to www.cedarlakepub.com. This site collects nothing from you when you download the excerpt, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
10. Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version always appears on this page with its effective date, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Lucas County, Ohio.
Before that, please simply get in touch at the address in section 13. Most misunderstandings are resolved by a conversation, and that is the strongly preferred route.
12. Severability
If any provision here is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
