About Dr. McCormick:

I have served as the associate pastor of Calvary Church in Maumee, Ohio since 2017, where my calling has been to come alongside people in their walk with God — through preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and now through the written word.

My academic journey in ministry led me to a Master of Divinity degree from Winebrenner Theological Seminary in Findlay, Ohio, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. Before answering the full-time call to ministry, I spent the better part of my career as a chemical engineer in the oil refining industry — a season of life that taught me more than I expected about faithfulness, perseverance, and the surprising ways God prepares people for what lies ahead.

I have been an ordained minister since 1991, and if there is one conviction that has only deepened over the years, it is this: God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. That conviction is the heartbeat of everything I write.

My wife Cindy and I married in 1988, and she has been a full partner and an invaluable gift throughout every season of our lives together. We have a son of whom we are enormously proud. We also carry with great love and great hope the memory of our daughter, who has already made it home ahead of us — and whom we fully expect to see again.
